Vernon and DeWitt should be the favored team in the district. These teams have a lot of returning starters and were very good teams last year. Davenport Assumption has some quality returning starters with a very talented younger group. This district will be very even in talent. There are good traditional programs in this district such as Mt Vernon, Dewitt, Assumption and including the Bobcats. Vinton is returning some very talented athletes and will be a team that always presents a challenge. Maquoketa was young last year and should be a better team. Overall Thoughts: We have a challenging schedule. We open with a traditionally talented Grinnell, Marion and CPU also have a lot of young talented athletes and are on an up swing. The competition will be very good. We have a very tough schedule. We have had a very good off season! Our athletes have worked very hard in the weight room to help make us competitive! We lost a very talented group but return some very talented athletes.
