First graders are learning about plants and animals using their interactive reading and writing notebook. This is a learning tool they'll bring home after each unit so you can see what they've been working on and use for continued practice.

Did you know Benton elementary students participate in a lesson with our School Librarian, Mr. Frimml? Mr. Frimml also supports some TAG instruction throughout the district. He brings both of these topics together when he provides "Creative Challenge" lessons to students.

Guest speakers are a great opportunity to learn. Some students at the MS/HS were able to listen to Justice May discuss the branches of government, how he was appointed as an Iowa Supreme Court Justice, and more.

Preschool is a busy and engaging learning space! Check out all of the imaginative, collaborative play going on while our youngest learners were practicing social skills.

Stella says, "Cowboy up, Bobcats!!" MS/HS students are home on the ranch today.

"My favorite thing about being a Bobcat is our traditions for each school year. My two favorites are the Homecoming celebration and our Veterans Day Program."

First grade students in Ms. Bastian's room were working on adding detail to their writing by asking themselves a series of questions related to the topic. This is a big skill transition!

One of the skills 4th graders work on is adding large numbers. One of the ways they do this is by using a place-value chart. You can see these students working together to add and other students learning through collaboratively solving an application problem.
