Cael Kaestner was 1 for 3 with a double and one RBI. Benton had three errors. Zane Frese took the loss, throwing 4 2/3 innings, allowing four hits, five runs (three earned), walked five, hit one batter and struck out five. Colby Lennie threw for 1 1/3 innings, allowed no hits or runs, and walked one. BC 200 00 - 2 CCA 000 93 - 12 Clear Creek Amana won the second game in five innings. Cael Kaestner was 1 for 3. Evan Daugherty was 1 for 2. Lennie was 1 for 2. The team had two errors. Aidan Thompson earned the win, throwing for five innings, allowing one hit two earned runs, walking five, hit one batter and struck out five. Finn threw for one inning, allowed no hits or runs, and struck out one. Benton (8-10) travels to Vinton-Shellsburg (0-15) for conference action on Monday, June 13. They host Grinnell (18-1) on Tuesday, June 14. Conference action resumes Thursday, June 16, when Benton hosts Maquoketa (3-10). On Friday, June 17, Benton hosts Iowa City Regina (9-5) for a single game at 7:30 p.m.
