Benton Community School District

Benton Community and Central Lutheran will be on a 2 hour late start today, Wednesday, December 7th. No early dismissal today.

I am currently in my 27th year of teaching at Benton Community. I began teaching at the Norway building in 1995 and then moved over to the Atkins building to teach kindergarten when sections were relocated. Now that our three children are all grown, my husband and I enjoy going to Iowa basketball games and spending time with our Bernese mountain dog, Tanner.

This is my 16th year teaching at Benton Community School District. I taught Kindergarten my first two years and have spent the last 14 years as a first grade teacher. I enjoy gardening, kayaking, camping, and being outdoors. I live in Cedar Rapids with my husband Wes, and sons Henry (5) and Levi (1). My son Henry and I love being a Benton Bobcat!

Spain Trip Meeting: There will be a meeting for all students who are going on the 2023 Spain Trip meeting on Friday, Dec. 2nd during 5th Hour in Mr. Liddle's Room. We will be discussing rooming assignments. If you cannot make the meeting please see Mr. Liddle sometime this week.

I have been in education for many years, but this is my first year at Benton Community as the 7th grade math teacher. When I have free time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking and spending time with my incredible family. I am thrilled to be part of the Bobcat Family!

8th Grade Boys: There is an 8th grade boys basketball signup outside of Mr. Dirks' room, room 22. There will also be an 8th grade boys basketball meeting this Friday, December 2nd in Mr. Dirks' room during 5th block. If you have class during 5th Block, please talk to Mr. Dirks before Friday so that you can get the information.
