In reading, 5th graders are learning about character relationships and authors. We are currently working on a project that compares and contrasts the students' favorite authors with Jason Reynolds. Jason is the author that wrote the stories our current unit is covering. Students are creating a presentation to share with the rest of the class. These presentations will be shared at the end of this week! 5K students are enjoying learning more about the lives of their favorite authors.
Some of the different areas that students are researching include the author's early lives, where they received their education, the books they are most known for, and life events and motivations that led them down the path of being an author. So far, students have found a lot of interesting information that they never knew about their authors. I am excited to see the information that they share with the rest of the class when they present their projects!
