As we started the month of January Atkins Elementary set a goal for each classroom to collect 100 non-perishable food or toiletry items to help our local food bank. We were hoping to collect at least 1800 items.  We smashed that goal with 2025 items. We appreciate all the support from the community. We also had a school-wide assembly to celebrate. The teacher whose class collected the most got to silly string their teacher.! Way to go 3L and 2S!

We celebrated the 100th day of school with amazing literature that can be used in many curricular areas.  Teachers also planned many fun activities for the students. They sorted, counted, measured, made headbands, wrote stories, made wishes for 100 things they would love and 100 things they would never want.  Some also took pictures of how they would look when they are 100 years old. The students loved all the fun activities!
