Hello, Bobcatland, I am back! I am excited to begin my new adventure as school counselor in the Keystone building. If you remember the “Bobcat Wheel” that is found in all school buildings and classrooms, we strive to develop well-rounded, young individuals prepared to be productive community members. School counselors use classroom lessons to help students develop a sense of self and understand how they fit into a changing world around them.
To support this growth, the school counseling department is leading regular classroom guidance lessons designed specifically for early learners. These lessons provide a structured, safe space for students to explore self-awareness and practice essential social skills. A central tool in this effort is the Character Strong curriculum, a research-backed program that focuses on character education and social-emotional development. Through engaging, age-appropriate videos and thought-provoking discussion questions, young Bobcats are taught how to understand their own emotions while developing empathy for others.
Please feel free to send me an email if you have any questions or would like to discuss more about our counseling program. If you see me in the community and want to say hi, please feel free to start up a conversation. It’s a great day to be a Bobcat!
