Students currently enrolled in Kirkwood Community College courses met with Mike Jacobsen and Tara Weber from Kirkwood on August 27 to learn strategies for success in college-level coursework. During the session, students were introduced to a variety of support services available to them as Kirkwood students, including tutoring, the Writing Center, Brainfuse, and the Brightspace Pulse app. These resources are designed to help students stay organized, strengthen their academic skills, and successfully navigate the expectations of college classes.
Taking college courses while in high school is a significant commitment, but it also provides valuable opportunities to earn college credit and prepare for life after graduation. Mrs. Nesbitt and Ms. Daily are committed to helping students make the most of all opportunities by building schedules that balance academic rigor, extracurricular involvement, and personal well-being. High school students interested in considering college-credit opportunities in the future should reach out to their school counselor.
