Starting a new teaching career comes with plenty of excitement, and plenty of questions. To help first and second year teachers feel supported as they grow into their roles, Benton Community provides Beginning Teacher Network sessions throughout the school year.
Led by the district’s Instructional Coaches, these sessions give new educators an opportunity to learn more about district traditions, expectations, and practices while building connections with colleagues across buildings and grade levels. The district’s GWAEA induction coach also joins the sessions, offering an additional layer of guidance and perspective as teachers navigate their first years in the profession.
Teachers have the opportunity to collaborate, share experiences, ask questions, and problem-solve together. Beyond learning the “how-to” of the district, the Beginning Teacher Network creates a space for new educators to learn from one another, build confidence, and know they are not navigating their first years of teaching alone.
