As our hallways have quieted down for the summer, it is a time to reflect on the incredible school year we have shared at Benton Community. A school district is so much more than our buildings or grades achieved; it is a community where dedicated educators, students, families, and our community collaborate to create an environment where every student has an opportunity to experience success. We are working to provide a Quality Education for a Lifetime of Learning each and every day for Bobcats.
Educational Excellence and Innovation
In the classroom, our students and staff pushed boundaries. We saw growth in our students' academics in areas such as literacy, math and science. We have had students start taking the Civics test that will be required for graduation and have already seen great success in our students' core knowledge in this area. This year also marked a major step forward in preparing our students for the future. We expanded and strengthened our vocational and career-technical partnerships, ensuring that whether a Bobcat is heading to a four-year university, trade school, or straight into the workforce, they leave our doors with a competitive edge. Additionally, we've had students achieve the Seal of Biliteracy, Iowa Degree, and a number of other Industry Recognized Credentials that will serve them into their futures.
Co-Curricular and Extracurricular Triumphs
Learning at Benton Community doesn't stop when the final bell rings. Our extracurricular programs enjoyed a banner year, proving once again that our students are as well-rounded as they are driven. Our music, theater, and visual arts programs captivated audiences all year. From full houses at our school musical and play to top-tier ratings at state music festivals, our students’ creative talents were on full display. Additionally, Benton athletes competed with fierce determination and, more importantly, exceptional sportsmanship. We celebrated conference achievements, state-level appearances, and countless personal records. Clubs and service organizations like FFA, Student Council, and our various service clubs spent hundreds of hours giving back to our local communities, reminding us all that leadership is defined by how we serve others.
Investing in Our Future
A great school district requires constant stewardship. This past year, we made significant strides in updating our facilities and enhancing our safety protocols to ensure a secure, modern, and welcoming learning environment for every child. We are deeply grateful to our community members whose continued investment makes these vital improvements possible.
The success of this school year is a testament to what happens when a community refuses to settle for anything less than excellence for its children.
Looking Ahead
To our graduating seniors: You have left a positive mark on Benton Community. As you step out into the world, carry the values of grit, integrity, and kindness that you cultivated here. You will always be Bobcats. To our returning students, families, and staff: Thank you for your tireless energy, your resilience, and your unwavering partnership. I encourage everyone to take this summer to rest, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. We have achieved great things this year, but the best part about Benton Community is that we are never done growing. Enjoy the summer break, and we will see you back this fall, ready to write the next great chapter in our school's history.
Go Bobcats!
