Currently in Algebra 2, students are starting to explore exponential equations.  In our current unit, students are working on writing equations that model exponential growth/decay and are using those equations to make predictions about past or future values.  Students have been applying this work with exponential equations to many different scenarios which include financial planning and population modeling.  The goal of this unit of study is for students to gain a deeper understanding of how exponential growth/decay works and how we can use an appropriate equation to model that change.
