On Friday, October 3, first grade students at Atkins Elementary celebrated Apple Discovery Day—a fun-filled event packed with hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and, of course, apples!
Students rotated through a variety of engaging stations designed to spark curiosity and connect classroom learning to the world around them. These stations included reading Ten Apples Up on Top while balancing apples, going on a nature hike with a bingo card, exploring apples through a science activity, and tasting different apple varieties. They even graphed their favorite apples and discussed the results as a class.
The day ended with a picnic lunch in the park. With smiles, laughter, and lots of learning, it was truly a day to remember!
