This season, the Benton Theatre department invites audiences to experience SpongeBob the Musical — a colorful, high-energy production that’s not only entertaining but also an incredible learning experience for the students involved.
Behind the scenes, students have been working for months to produce a quality show experience for the audience. Students have taken on roles both on stage and behind the scenes, developing essential skills in collaboration, creativity, time management, and problem-solving. From building sets and managing lights and sound to learning choreography and interpreting characters, each student has contributed to bringing Bikini Bottom to life.
Theatre offers a unique opportunity for students to explore teamwork, leadership, and communication in a real-world setting where deadlines are very real. SpongeBob the Musical challenges them to think critically, adapt, and express themselves artistically.
When the town faces an unexpected crisis, SpongeBob and his friends — Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, and the whole gang — must band together to save their underwater home. With catchy songs from artists like Panic! At The Disco, Sara Bareilles, and David Bowie, this show is packed with heart, humor, and unforgettable music. This fun-filled musical is great for all ages, and no prior knowledge of SpongeBob is necessary to enjoy the show.
