This year, our Tier 1 team at Keystone Elementary—which includes teachers from a variety of departments—is participating in a professional development program called Teach to Heal. This training is designed to help us better support the emotional and social well-being of our students by focusing on the well-being of our educators.

In today's world, our students face many challenges, and it's more important than ever that we, as educators, are equipped to support them. The Teach to Heal training is built on a simple, yet powerful idea: that we cannot pour from an empty cup. By giving our teachers the tools to manage their own stress and emotional health, we can create a more positive and nurturing environment for our students.

The program focuses on several key areas, including:

Mindfulness and self-awareness: Learning simple techniques to stay present and calm.

Building resilience: Developing strategies to bounce back from difficult situations.

Creating a supportive community: Fostering stronger relationships among staff members.

The goal isn't just to help our staff; it's to create a ripple effect. When teachers feel supported and whole, they are better able to connect with students, manage classroom challenges with grace, and truly inspire a love of learning. We believe this approach will help us build a school community where everyone—students and staff alike—feels safe, seen, and ready to thrive.

We are incredibly optimistic about the positive impact this training will have on our school. It's a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible education for your children—one that nurtures not only their minds but their hearts as well.
