Benton Community School District

For the past several school years, Environmental Science has been offered but not taught at Benton due to a lack of participants and a full schedule. Fortunately, this year, the schedule allows, and there are 30 students signed up to take this course! This will be an exciting opportunity for students to learn about ecosystems, interact with local watersheds, and explore global environmental issues. During this course, students will take trips to Pleasant Creek Recreation Area and Hannen Lake to look at water purity and study microorganisms. Hopefully this level of participation will continue into future school years and allow this course to become a regular again for students to learn and enjoy.
