My favorite thing about being a Bobcat is the opportunity to work with our students and help them to build confidence and be successful in the mathematics classroom.

Benton Community is proud to welcome Mr. Daniel Woods as our new 8th grade social studies teacher and head wrestling coach pending school board approval!
Coach Woods brings great experience and a strong wrestling background. He competed at West Delaware under Hall of Fame coach Jeff Voss and went on to be part of the wrestling program at the University of Northern Iowa, where he spent four years as a manager for Head Coach Doug Schwab.
Coach Woods is a firm believer in building meaningful relationships with students, both in the classroom and through athletics.
We are excited to have his energy, dedication, and leadership at Benton Community. Please join us in giving Mr. Woods a warm welcome!

We are proud to announce the middle school students who have earned a spot on the 2026–2027 MS Football Cheer Team!
We can’t wait to see you shine on the sidelines and represent your school with energy and enthusiasm! 💙💛

Our culinary class has been diving into the art of food garnishing, learning how small details can elevate a simple dish into something visually appealing and professional. This week, students had the opportunity to get hands-on by practicing their garnishing skills using a fun and familiar treat—Twinkies!

It’s National Principal Week! Join us in celebrating and thanking these outstanding school leaders whose dedication and leadership make a difference every day for our students, staff, and families.

Reminder school will dismiss early TODAY Friday, April 3 at 1:00 p.m.

SOCCER UPDATE!! Girls JV soccer game in Grinnell is cancelled. Varsity Girls are still playing at 5 p.m. and Boys at 6:30 p.m.

This year the high school band sent 28 groups to perform at Solo and Ensemble Festival. The musicians receive ratings based on their performance with a division 1 being the best possible rating. Junior Brian Araiza received a division 1 rating for his trumpet solo while also earning a perfect score of 35/35 on his ballot. Brian also received the Best of Center award. This is awarded to one performer in each center. There were 47 performers in Brian's center.
Perhaps you saw a previous post of Joel Hacker receiving a Best of Center award for his vocal solo. There were 6 total centers at the festival and Benton students walked away with 2 of the best of center awards. Quite the rare accomplishment.
Congratulations to both Joel and Brian!
