There is still time to apply for a job shadow! Students in grades 10-12 are HIGHLY encouraged to participate in a job shadow. Already this year, almost 30 Benton students have gotten the opportunity to learn more about a career area of interest. Some of the businesses/organizations that have supported this by accepting students are Frontier Co-op, Virginia Gay Hospital, Keystone Communications, RE/MAX Concepts - Lisa Nolan, Kinze Manufacturing, Mount Mercy University, Theatre Cedar Rapids, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and more!
Reach out to Mr. Cretin with any additional questions. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

Benton Community buildings are all focused on GRATITUDE as a word and skill area of study this month. Dr. Bieschke and Mrs. Selk traveled the district this morning to provide staff with a sweet treat and share words of appreciation and gratitude. We are so grateful to have such a dedicated group of individuals supporting students throughout the district in a variety of roles.

Why Benton? "I was first introduced to Benton Community Schools when I attended the 2017 Homecoming Pep Rally as a new resident of Van Horne and a new Benton parent. I left that Pep Rally thinking, 'This is where I want to teach.'”

"Once Upon a Mattress" is a musical based on the story of the princess and the pea. This is the story of Prince Dauntless's search for a bride. No one in the kingdom may wed until Prince Dauntless marries, and the Queen tests each potential princess to prove they are unsuitable to marry her son. The knights and ladies of the kingdom are ready to get married and conspire with the jester and minstrel to find a true princess for Dauntless to marry. Princess Winifred, Fred, arrives from the swamp and must be tested to see if she is a bonafide princess who is worthy of marrying the prince. This show is filled with fun songs and entertaining characters.

"My favorite thing about being a Bobcat is the strong commitment to our students and staff both academically and in our extracurricular activities. GO CATS!"
