Bobcats open football season with win over rival Vinton-Shellsburg

Benton passed for 91 yards. Vinton passed for 140 yards. Benton rushed for 309 yards, and VS had 20 yards rushing.
Benton quarterback Carson Nolan was 8 of 10 for 91 yards and one touchdown.
Nolan had 171 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Brenden Heying rushed six times for 84 yards. Dylan LeFebvere had one touchdown.
Logan Upah had two catches for 26 yards. Lefebvere had one catch for 21 yards and one touchdown. Eli Patterson had two catches for two yards.
Heying had 4.5 total tackles, with four solo tackles and two for loss. LeFebvere had 3.5 tackles with two solo. Elias Bieschke had 3.5 tackles with one solo.
Nolan had one interception for 33 yards and a touchdown. Patterson had one 30-yard interception for a touchdown. Lefebvere had one kick return for 19 yards. Brody Timmerman had two punt returns for 29 yards.
Elijah Kupka had eight kickoffs for 465 yards. He was 4 of 6 for points after touchdown. Nolan had one two-point conversion.
Vinton’s Colton Koeppen was 11 of 25 in passing for 140 yards and two interceptions. Isaiah Schneider had 11 carries for 27 yards.
