Next Monday night, January 10th, the girls and boys basketball teams will be hosting Waverly Shell Rock in our Coaches vs Cancer night. The girls game will tip off at 6:00 pm and the boys game to follow. This will be a great night to see lots of Benton students in action as our Pep Band, Cheerleaders and Dance Team will also be performing throughout the night. This year's Coaches vs Cancer event will be honoring Michelle Lampkin in her current fight against cancer! We hope to see a huge crowd of Bobcats in the stands on Monday night!

There is a mandatory meeting for all Senior Students on January 11th at 2:40 in the school auditorium. A Benton Scholarship Foundation representative will be here talking about the huge reward you can get by filling out one application.
We look forward to seeing all senior students.


Benton Community School would like to thank Linn Area Credit Union for their $250 donation to our Food Pantry. Lori Vana braved the weather to deliver the check to us today! Because of their generosity, Mrs. Sahu will be able to replenish some of the most needed and requested items. Mrs. Sahu does a great job overseeing our pantry and Benton is lucky to have such a dedicated person in charge of it.


All Sophomores and Juniors who want to go out for football next fall need to meet in Coach Z's classroom TODAY during Bobcat Time.


8-12 grade girls: If you are interested in participating in winter open gyms for softball, please stop in the Activities office and sign up. Softball Open gyms for girls in grades 8-12 will be held in the HS gym on Sundays from 3-5pm and Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm beginning Sunday January 16th. Auditions for the Spring Play will be held January 6, January 10, and January 12 after school and January 13 at 7:30 am in Mrs. Nimtz Room, Room 22. If none of these times work for you, please let Mrs. Nimtz know before the end of the school
day on January 13. This year's play is The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe!

Middle School boys basketball:
7th grade boys basketball players need to take the Norway bus #31 after school for practice.
8th grade boys basketball players and managers need to take the Atkins bus #21 after school. Practice starts at 4:00 PM.


All school buildings will be closed after Saturday, January 1 at 10:00 a.m. - Sunday evening, January 2. Weather forecast predicting measurable snow. No open gym or other scheduled practices after Saturday at 10 a.m. through Sunday evening.

Winter break is a great time to get some jobs done, that would otherwise be difficult to do with a school full of students. New bathroom doors were installed in all boy restrooms at the MS/HS today. Thank you to the maintenance and custodial staff for everything that you do.
