Growing up, I was blessed with some of the best grandparents in the world. One of my fondest memories is baking and decorating Christmas cookies with them each year. Year after year, I looked forward to this December day. As I grew up and got busier and busier, I still made it a point to dedicate a day each year to do something with them that I love so much.

Last year, my first year as a second-grade teacher, I thought to myself, How great would it be for all of my students to get to experience decorating and making Christmas cookies with my grandparents? So, I called my grandparents and of course they went along with my crazy idea. The day was perfect, filled with smiles, laughs, and a whole lot of FUN!

This year marks the second annual 2T Holiday Baking Day. A day that is incomparable to any other. The pure joy and excitement (and the mess…) is something that I wish all students could experience. I love being able to work in a school like Keystone Elementary that values the importance of providing students amazing experiences like this one.
