Keystone kindergarteners have been visiting the care center monthly, where they spend meaningful time with the residents. With bright smiles and eager energy, the children share stories, sing songs, and create simple crafts together. Throughout the year, they have enjoyed coloring, trick-or-treating, and caroling with the residents. When visits were not possible due to illness, the students made and sent Valentines to stay connected. This month, they are looking forward to practicing and sharing their concert songs.

The residents welcome the children and enjoy their cheerful presence. The visits help build community and belonging, reminding us of the importance of human connection. Through this experience, kindergarteners have begun to understand empathy and respect in a meaningful way. Just as we have learned during reading instruction, even the smallest person can make the biggest impact.
