Atkins Elementary

Our preschoolers are establishing and practicing routines to get started with their school day. It is a great way to build community and relationships between students and staff!

Our Second Graders made text to self connections with the story Chrysanthemum. We took time to learn about wilting and blooming, and how we all can help one another bloom!

Third grade students participate in delivering the morning announcements. Announcements consist of breakfast for tomorrow, student birthdays, the Bobcat Pledge and the Pledge of Allegiance. The announcements are made over the loud speaker for all students to hear. They do an amazing job!

It has been another busy, but GREAT day in Kinderland! Our Bobcats are learning about iPad safety, sorting attributes, and how to play safely and have fun!

Atkins Preschool Group

Mrs. Lynch’s 3 graders learned about integrity and character during their morning meeting. Students shared their heroes and what character traits each person had that made them who they are today. The list included: Tuff Hedeman, Tiko, Taylor Swift, dads, Abraham Lincoln, and Simone Biles.

We loved spending time outside today! Our students are using their problem solving skills during kickball, and all recess activities!

Mrs. Cherveny’s Kinders are working on rhyming skills and letter formation during literacy time.

Ms. Bastian's 1st graders are working on CVC words with shaving cream.

Tanager Place

With the threat of severe weather this afternoon into the evening, Flag Football practice is being cancelled tonight. Next practice will be Sunday, August 29th at 3:30 at the practice field.

It's the little things!

Our Second Grade students are reviewing how to make a 10, and adding within 20, while using number bonds and manipulative counters. This will be our district’s second year using the curricular series Engage NY to provide rigorous math instruction to our students.

Miss Bolar’s class shared what they would like to ‘bee’ when they grow up! It was a great way to practice speaking and listening skills, as well as celebrate one another!

Our PM Preschool classes are engaging in collaborative learning centers!

The tile flooring is being put down on the Preschool playground. It will soon be ready for our students.

2021-2022 Online Registration is now open! Highlights- New online payment system - “In Touch”. Accessible from within PowerSchool (separate login no longer needed). When parents pay Registration fees online, they WILL NOT be charged any transaction or credit card fees. (Fees will be assessed for all lunch account deposits) Free student lunches continue for the 21-22 school year. We are able to provide free meals to our students once again this year as a result of the Federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSA Act). The USDA has also extended waivers, flexibilities and reimbursements to aid in the access our students have to free meals. We are excited to operate this no cost student meal program for the entire 21-22 school year.
