One of the key tools I will use in my new role as the Norway Interventionist is the Bridges Intervention curriculum. This program is designed to help students build strong mathematical understanding through hands-on activities, visual models, and targeted practice. Instead of simply memorizing steps, students learn why math works the way it does, boosting both confidence and long-term success.
Bridges Intervention benefits students by:
● Meeting learners where they are: Instruction is tailored to each student’s current skill level.
● Building deep understanding: Students use number lines, manipulatives, and visual models to make sense of math concepts.
● Encouraging flexible thinking: Bridges helps students see multiple ways to solve a problem, making them more confident and independent mathematicians.
● Reinforcing classroom learning: The curriculum aligns with what students learn in their math classes, providing extra practice and support exactly where it’s needed.
I love having the chance to work with students from 4th to 6th grade. I get to celebrate their progress, watch their confidence grow, and be part of those ‘lightbulb moments’ when things finally click. Every student deserves to feel successful in math, and I’m honored to be part of that process.
