I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to co-teach in two of our Social Studies high school classrooms at Benton Community. The first class I co-teach in is Mr. Voss’s World History course, while the second is Mr. Alber's American History class. This marks my first experience collaborating with both of these educators, and I am thrilled to not only acquire valuable content knowledge from them but also gain insights into effective high school student engagement.

In Mr. Voss's World History class, we are currently exploring the civilizations of Ancient Rome and Greece. It's a fantastic journey of discovery for both the students and myself, as we delve into the rich cultural heritage, political systems, and remarkable achievements of these ancient societies.

Simultaneously, in Mr. Alber's American History class, we are immersing ourselves in the Reconstruction Era. Through thought-provoking article readings and small group discussions, we are uncovering the challenges and triumphs that shaped post-Civil War America. This exploration facilitates critical thinking and fosters a deeper understanding of the struggles and progress made during this pivotal period in our nation's history.
