Benton Community will be starting a Skills USA chapter for the 2023-2024 school year. Skills USA’s goal is to ensure the country will have a talented workforce for years to come. Another focus for this club includes building leadership skills. This club will be student lead with officer roles such as president, secretary, treasure, and more. During a student’s time in this club, they will have opportunities to work on building and creating personal projects. If a student doesn’t want to work on a personal project, they can take the time to help others problem-solve or learn about a new area of industrial technology that they may want to know more about. Students in this club will get to visit industrial tech. related jobs by going on industry tours of factory plants, welding shops, construction job sites, or another Industrial tech. related businesses. Last, students will work together to create projects and enter these projects into a variety of competitions. There are over 60 different industrial technology related competitions that students get to choose to enter and be a part of. I am excited to see students building a great work ethic, leadership skills, and industrial tech. skills that will all carry out into their future line of work.
