This March we will be celebrating books and authors in the Middle School High School IMC. Students will vote for their favorite authors in two, eight person brackets. Authors were chosen based on their popularity at Benton, as shown by student checkouts in the past few months. Students will be able to vote for their preferred author in each matchup with the winners advancing to the subsequent round.
Which author will emerge as the favorite of 2023? Will it be Alan Gratz, Lauren Tarshis, or one of the historical fiction writers? Maybe Mike Lupica or Tim Green with sports. Or maybe humorous author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid Jeff Kinney or suspense writer April Henry. One of my favorite parts of working with students in the library is helping them find new books. My goal with this contest is to introduce students to what might be their new favorite authors, genres, and formats.
