The start of the school year for all employees begins with professional development and our annual opening ceremony in the MS/HS auditorium. This event has stood the test of time and signifies the official beginning of the new school year. This year, we took a unique approach by inviting approximately 50 retirees back to the district to share their invaluable experiences of working within our community.

The day was filled with a sense of nostalgia and a strong commitment to learning and growth. Our retired staff members, who played integral roles in shaping the educational landscape of our district, returned to impart their wisdom and insights with current staff. Their stories served as a bridge between the past and the present, reminding us of the progress we've made while also highlighting the core values that have remained constant such as the Benton Wheel. What it meant for them to be a “Bobcat” was a common theme. We honored our retirees on stage in the auditorium before they had the opportunity to engage with current staff in  meaningful conversations.

We hope we were able to honor a few of the people who have helped to establish and carry on the great legacy of Benton Community! We weren’t able to get in touch with all of our retirees prior to the event and hated to leave anyone out of the events of the day, but hope they understand our deep gratitude as well for all they have done for Benton Community!
