The class has bloomed in their learning this year in Alternative Kindergarten! We are learning all about plants. Our class spent time during this theme studying different types of plants. We discovered what plants need to grow! We also learned that we eat different parts of the plant. Examples include: carrots are roots, celery is a stem, lettuce is a leaf, and cauliflower is a flower.

During this theme, the Alternative Kindergarten class learned about the life cycle of a plant. The AK friends had the opportunity to plant seeds in a bag, watching the roots pop out and the seedling start to grow! We also planted grass seed and are excitedly watching it grow!

The Alternative Kindergarten friends have been blooming in their reading and writing this year. They are journaling about plants and as authors, are sharing their learning about plants with the class. We read stories about plants and completed an anchor chart about vegetables. It has been so exciting to watch the AK class bloom as learners this school year!
