ScanDisk is a useful tool that looks for, and attempts to fix, errors that may exist on a computer's hard drive. Screen savers and other programs should be stopped before running ScanDisk. Click here to learn how to disable screen saver.
1. Click "Start" (lower left)
2. Click "Programs"
3. Click "Accessories"
4. Click "System Tools"
5. Click "ScanDisk"
6. At this point you should see a box that reads "Scan - (C:)"
at the top. Check "Automatically fix errors" and then Click
"Start."
7. The scan will take several minutes. When it's finished scanning
Click "close."
