Keystone & Van Horne Elementary Centers

The Keystone and Van Horne Elementary Centers, located on the western side of our district, house Kindergarten through 6th grade. These centers serve students from Elberon, Keystone, Van Horne and surrounding areas. 

The Van Horne Center is a Preschool through 2nd grade double section early childhood center. This facility serves 135 primary students who are offered many outstanding activities from a veteran staff of teachers. The students receive instruction in a variety of educational programs that include the Developmental Activities Program, and the Iowa Behavioral Institute. 

The Keystone Center is a 3rd through 6th grade double section center. Students from the Van Horne Center move to this center to complete their elementary experience. The facility serves 179 students. In addition to the above-mentioned educational programs, the students at this center have a structured activities program, individual and group band, exploratory classes and a modified block schedule that is unique for elementary schools in the state of Iowa.
